ArtBuzz Artist-in-Residence program aims to provide selected artists the opportunity to live and work outside of their usual environments, providing them time to reflect, produce work and immerse themselves in local culture. You will also have an opportunity to meet our community and connect with us.

Residents Artists 2023

Ashna Malik :  Ashna Malik is a multidisciplinary artist who received her BFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design. She uses a combination of traditional and digital media to investigate ideas of perception, distortion, immersion and experience. Currently based in New Delhi, she has exhibited her work and is included in private collections in the United States, France and India. Through paintings and interactive projections, Malik aims to have the viewer question their limited perception and understanding of reality through stimulating visuals. Using a combination of digital and traditional media, Malik pushes boundaries and provides the viewer with an encapsulating experience. Dynamic lines and vibrant colours create movement and distortion through optical play challenging the viewer’s perception of what they see and understand.
 
Swati Soharia:  Swati Soharia, runs a sustainable lifestyle label called 'Katran'. Her work focusses upon upcycling textile discards from the fashion industry to make functional products. She trains and employs women from low income communities in india to work on the craft. She takes guest lectures at top tier fashion institutes to spread awareness about the dangers of fast fashion and promote upcycling and recycling.

Priyanshi Jhaveri:  She did her postgraduation in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts, London (2019). She co-founded Art and Artisans, India - a group which initiates interactions between the youth, artisans and artists. She has curated and exhibited in various group shows in London and India. She is currently living and working in Surat, as a visual artist and designer.

Naman Jaggi:   Naman Jaggi has a multidisciplinary approach in the field of arts. He doesn't categorise himself to be an artist working in a particular medium or form, his passion for Art and creativity has a transcend approach. His art practice involves mediums like mixed media, oils and Acrylics on canvas and panels
 
Ankur Yadav :  Ankur is a post-disciplinary practitioner who works with artistic installation works. He mainly works with dioramas. His installation works use dioramas to question the assumed known, the considered unknown and projected perceptions, through what we are made to see and perceive. 
 
Arijit Chakraborty :   Arijit Chakraborty is an artist working with visual media for almost 15 years. His work is rooted in realism. He has graduated with Economics from Calcutta University and gradually a diploma and post-graduate diploma holder in Photography
 
Minelli:  Minelli refers to herself as someone who ‘sometimes scribbles’ but you’ll find her to be an artist who is specifically fascinating with the originals she illustrates correlating to the threads of daily life!
 
Ishrath Humairah:  Ishrath Humairah is a self-taught artist from India, who primarily paints nature abstracts. Deep textured landscapes, rocks, trees and nature are her signature elements. She is continually experimenting with colours, textures and media as can be seen in her progression of paintings.
