Artist: Kiran Dayal
Year: 2020
Medium: Clay on White Mount Board
Size: 16" x 12" in (Framed)
Description:
These are the clay/paper and/or mixed media artworks. Mark-making technique is used on clay. I used my previously made clay pieces, the process of collecting the pieces and bringing them back in one frame is symbolic of enumerable trial and errors, the journey to self-love, pride, and care, during the phase where the vulnerability was at its peak for me. Going through the humiliation that our bodies and minds suffer, for many, witness trauma, prejudice, organized oppression, and harassment. Restoring self has never been an easy process, questions on self and sense of vulnerability still linger, similarly, the composition seems scattered and yet hanging together somehow; studies of self are a medium of catharsis.
