These works came into being due to a collaboration between me and my 2.5 year old nephew. He moulded the clay carelessly, devoid of any sense of ownership for it. Whereas I reworked with his work, reinterpreted them, transformed them according to my preconceived ideas, and now I claim my ownership on them as an artist. The process of creation became the process of manipulation. Therefore his childhood and his original imprints are now the remains along with mine; symbolic of the socio-cultural dynamics involved in parenting, child’s upbringing, manipulation as per the pre-decided norms of grown-ups.
