Artsome Artist: Harman Taneja
Her roots belong to Delhi. Ever since she can remember her fondest memories have been associated with paints and clay. Canvases and paints are like oases on a burning day. Well, architecture has broadened the way she sees things. It altogether took her on a different journey from analysing the blank site and creating a space that lends another dimension to her artwork. Interning at Auroville has cultivated the value of material and which is where she found resin. Now resin is one of the predominant materials in her works along with other materials like terracotta, concrete etc.
She is still exploring the material and trying to challenge it by attaining curvilinearity which is generally missing in the framework around us. Showing possibilities within production and materiality across different scales.
She is trying to fight the set norms for us, or set rules for life, hence deforming the form of dictated cubes, of set structures. Breaking free from those lines, breaking free from a rectangular canvas. This is where the 3d material (craft) helps her break free from the mould of life, which yet is used in her works. Instagram has been her major source of medium for awakening people about her.
Currently, she runs her own art studio in Delhi.
